Meet me in a book store that contains ourselves and the world together and apart.

Daily writing prompt
Where would you go on a shopping spree?

Meet me in a book store that contains ourselves and the world together and apart.

Lets' go buy books or is it dreams, the pains
And pleasures of a holiday abroad
In heaven, or is it Hell: where you learn
Most about the state of the world or your
Own soul, where these elements collide now
And again, collude or clash in mortal
Antagonistic embraces. Cold as fires
That rage in divided lands, occupied
Solely by the hate of the powerful
Against those it will not set free to find
A space not thus held by vicious defence
Of rights to be the one thing needful held
In hearts imprisoned by their own hubris.
Be proud to be a nation and you'll lose
Every bit of what you might contain:
Truth, love, beauty live only when contained
Inside us, leafed through on occasional chance
Of despair, or hope that one day you'll dance.

With love

Steven

I hope to talk about my visit to the Leigh Bowery Exhibition tomorrow
